Who? Me??

I said yesterday in my post that for some of my new readers I would put up a post about myself so you can get to know me a little better.. So  ,without further ado.. onward we go...

As you already know my name is Robyn and I am 42 years old. Some people keep telling me when I hit 40 I needed to start counting backwards but, not me.. I am proud of my 42 years, my gray hairs, my small wrinkles and even the fact I have to go and get an eye exam for reading glasses..Why proud?  Because I've made it this far!  I am married to Mr. L. for the past 13 and a half years and we have seven fur kids together..
Next I will share with you our furry kids..
This is Bailey who has had an invisible umbilical cord attached to me since the day he was born which was 13 years ago almost in Nov.
This is Jake.. A big love bug who has a tail that should be classified as a deadly weapon.
This is Matty who is also Jakes biological brother..He's just as big as Jake although his tail isn't as lethal as the butt he has on him which needs its own zip code. Yes, we are trying to get Matty to lose some weight but it ain't easy..
This is Lizzy who I like to call our lil' misfit. We found Lizzy in a pet shop when we went in looking for fish. This tiny English Setter who was all legs and whose body and head would really need to catch up sitting alone in a huge cage. If you're a misfit or wacked out, I know one day I'll find you on my door step and so, we added Lizzy to our brood.
This is Lady.. She is our "mama"..She is the biological mom to Bailey, Shadow and Bruiser who you have yet to see. She is also a diabetic for the last 2 and a half years. She is also blind but despite her problems she gets along well and we make sure she does.
This is Onyx who is Lady's mate and the biological daddy to Bailey, Bruiser and Shadow..
This is Shadow who is also a newly diagnosed diabetic. It's a hereditary thing as his Mom, Lady up there is also a diabetic. Shadow is doing well despite having diabetes..
And this is our beloved Bruiser who we had to say goodbye to in December of 2010. We miss him everyday and his ashes sit on our mantel with a photo of himself so while he can not be here physically with us he is still a part of our daily lives..
Now that you have seen my hubby and our furry kids,  a little more about myself. In knowing me a bit better you will be able to see a little more clearly what you can expect to find on my blog.

I love to read.. I am avid reader and it has to be an actual book that I can hold. Now I know that those E readers etc are all real popular but call me simple , as I am , I love the feel of a good old fashioned book in my hands that I have to turn the pages. I wasn't always a big reader but my love for books has grown exponentially over the last few years.
What do I like to read?.. Mostly Catholic books about the Saints and the faith.. I like true crime stories and biographies.. I never could get into fiction or those tacky romance thingies.. Sorry to all those romance thingy readers, it's just not my bag..

I love old classic movies.. Anything black and white from the silent film era up until the 1940's melodrama is for me.. There are some movies from the 50's and 60's I like too but I love anything from the time periods before that.. and yes, my TV is usually stuck on two stations in my house, one of them being Turner Classic Movies..

I like to crochet as well.. I haven't gotten real far with different kinds of projects except blankets.. All kinds..When I try other projects like sweaters etc I can't get the hang of it so I realize that blankets must be my calling in this area and so I'll stick with those..

I am a Catholic of the Roman Rite and my faith and religion play a huge part in my life.. I Love the Lord Jesus Christ, The Holy Trinity and our Blessed Virgin Mary.. Jesus is my all and I am in love with Him in the Blessed Sacrament.. I believe that I can do nothing in this life without Him and I am nothing without Him.. I am on a journey to be as close and loving to Him as one can be and sometimes, it ain't easy but I wouldn't have it any other way. I love the Catholic Church and everything She believes in and stands for even when its difficult..
I am 100% pro life and I respect all life as they say "from the womb to the tomb".. I do not believe in euthanasia, I do not believe in abortion or birth control...I also strive to love people as Christ loves us which some days again, it ain't easy.. I do have an open mind and I am not one to criticize others because they may not agree with what I believe in.. We are all on our own journey.. While my love of Christ and his Catholic Church play major roles in my life and I will probably post alot about this I don't want anyone to feel they can't come to my blog or post a comment or an opinion if it differs from mine..I love all people of all faiths and I am open to discussion.. I only ask that you do it with respect...

I think thats about it for now.. I have more to share but this post has gotten so long already I wouldn't be surprised if people stopped reading already or have fallen asleep at the keyboard.. and if you did, when you wake up make sure to look in the mirror for fear that you may have letters imprinted on your forehead..
If you have gotten to this point and are still interested, stay tuned.. There's more to come! :)

  3. Hi Robyn, Thank you for visiting me today; it's nice to visit here. I loved reading about your furbabies-wow you've got quite a pack. How wonderful; over the years we generally have 2 at a time but now just one-we love him just as much though. I loved your statement of faith-so refreshing that you shared right where you are. I was raised Catholic but now go to a evangelical bible based church(not that all Catholic churches aren't). I'll be back to visit again.
    Have a great weekend.
